About
Bryan George Steil, born March 3, 1981, is an attorney and former manufacturing executive from Janesville, Wisconsin. He earned a B.S. from Georgetown University and a J.D. from the University of Wisconsin Law School, worked as an aide to Rep. Paul Ryan in 2003, spent a decade in the manufacturing industry (including as an executive at Charter NEX Film and roles at Regal Beloit and the law firm McDermott Will & Emery), and served on the University of Wisconsin Board of Regents from 2016. He was elected to the U.S. House in 2018, succeeding Paul Ryan, and has been re-elected in 2020, 2022, and 2024. Since 2023 he has chaired the House Administration Committee and sits on the House Financial Services Committee.
Positions on the issues
Supports lowering costs by cutting government spending, expanding American energy production, and reducing regulatory costs; supports lower taxes and making the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act provisions permanent (per his campaign site and voting record).
